5 Great Places to Eat near Denver, Colorado
I’m not just a wedding photographer: I’m ready to be your personal guide to all things Colorado! I would love nothing more than to help you have a great wedding AND a great time while you’re in Colorado getting hitched.
Denver is a great spot for foodies! There are so many places in the city, or just outside of the city to enjoy some delicious options. Whether you’ve lived here for a while, or you’re visiting for your destination wedding or elopement, I want to give you some ideas! These are some spots that you might find me on any given Friday night or Sunday morning.
Here are 5 spots that I am always craving!
Tony P’s Pizza in North Denver
Maybe I’m biased, because I worked at Tony P’s for a short time and lived only 6 blocks away, but I think this is one of the best pizza spots in Denver. Located in North Denver, this tasty spot has pizza by the slice or the pie, calzones, and other delicious Italian entrees. And the best part? FREE bread sticks brought to the table when you show up! The house sangria is not to be missed either. While working here I definitely got familiar with the menu, but my favorite items include: the walnut pear salad, sausage ricotta pizza/zone, and baked ziti.
Right next door is also Zio Romolo’s Alley Bar, that features trivia on Thursdays and live music twice a week. They also offer slices until 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights!
Toast Fine Food and Coffee in Littleton
Toast Fine Food and Coffee is one of my all-time favorite spots for breakfast and brunch in town! Just 15 minutes south of Downtown Denver, this is a great spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast before you head up to the mountains for adventure. It can definitely get busy, so I would recommend getting there early. If you show up and the wait is long, walk around the corner to my favorite coffee shop, Dirt Coffee, to have a hot drink while you wait!
Best thing on the menu? The chicken fried pancakes and waffles. This is definitely a meal to eat when you don’t have anywhere to be the rest of the day, because you’ll want to sleep it off! One of my favorite breakfast meals ever! Of course, at a place called Toast, the french toast is pretty divine.
Pete’s Kitchen in Downtown Denver
Pete’s Kitchen is a Denver classic for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I went to high school down Colfax, at East High School, and this was a fun spot to meet up and eat after school before going to the school play, homecoming football game, or line dancing at the Grizzly Rose. We also eat here for team breakfast at my sustainability job!
This menu has options for just about everybody, from french toast breakfast to smothered patty melts. The atmosphere is laid back, and the walls also have photos of celebrities who have stopped in for a meal at Pete’s Kitchen! Pete himself owns several other restaurants in Denver, including Pete’s Greek Town Cafe and the Satire Lounge.
The Original Chubby’s Mexican Food in North Denver
On 38th Avenue in North Denver, the old building is gone but the flavor remains. Chubby’s is one of the classic Denver spots to get delicious and affordable Mexican food! Green chili is a staple, and Chubby’s does it right. My personal favorite is a smothered chicken burrito!
They’re also open late, so if you get a craving for Mexican food, you can head over to Chubby’s and get it taken care of!
Thai Basil in Downtown Denver
If you’re in the mood for Asian cuisine, Thai Basil is a great option. They have so many options to chose from, including your classic staples like sesame chicken and beef with broccoli, as well as pho, pad Thai, Thai curry, and boba teas. The quality is always top notch, and they have so many options that you won’t ever get bored!
To make it easy, they offer delivery, takeout, and dine-in options at three different locations right near downtown Denver!
Wanting to plan an awesome Denver wedding or engagement session? I got your back!
