Fall Micro Wedding at Sapphire Point in Dillon, CO | Mavany and Mike

When it comes to micro weddings and elopements in Colorado Sapphire Point is a go to location for a ton of couples, and after seeing Mavany and Mike’s day there I’m sure you’ll see why! These two along with the help of their friends, family, and incredible team of vendors put on one of the most fun micro weddings I’ve had the chance to photograph. Come with me as I relive their day and take a look at all the details that made it so special! After some LOVELY words from Mavany of course!!

“I am a KS bride who traveled 42 of my closest friends and family to CO to get married all so my doggies’ paw could be on my marriage license! I’m being SO serious when I say A.) my wedding would NOT have happened without Katie and B.) Katie made the destination wedding process SO smooth, relaxing, and ACTUALLY enjoyable. I would not have changed a single thing. Katie deserves so much recognition for all she does for her couples.”

Getting Ready and a First Look

Mavany and Mike’s wedding adventure started with the two of them getting ready separately with their closest friends and family around them. Having this small and intimate group of their loved ones around and helping the two get ready was such a sweet way to start an incredible day. Once they were both ready, Mavany made her way outside where she met up with her father for a first look. Her Dad let out the BIGGEST smile seeing Mavany for the first time in her wedding dress.

Next up was Mavany’s first look with Mike which was truly spectacular! I talked a bit about how magical a fall wedding in Colorado can be in this blog, and WOW does Mavany and Mike’s first look showcase exactly what I was talking about!! Not only was their first look so sweet and emotional, but the orange and yellow leaves on the trees really created the perfect setting for the moment. After we all gathered ourselves it was time to make our way up to Sapphire Point for their micro wedding ceremony!

Their Wedding Ceremony and Portraits at Sapphire Point

Sapphire Point near Dillon, Colorado offers an incredibly beautiful and scenic location for elopements and micro weddings like Mavany and Mike’s. The space, which looks out over the Dillon Reservoir and the Gore and Tenmile mountain ranges, was as jaw dropping as ever for Mavany and Mike’s day! They had all of their closest family and friends there as well as their pup Liberty. Liberty means SO much to Mavany and Mike, which is why Liberty had the honor of signing as their witness for their wedding! Once their ceremony was over Mavany and Mike spent some time with their family taking portraits with the incredible view of their ceremony space. After that though was one of the sweetest moments of the day, when the two newlyweds shared their vows to one another in private. This was SUCH a sweet part of their day and an emotional one for sure!!

Next on our list were a variety of portrait photos with the newlyweds which I am obsessed with! Photos were incredibly important to both Mavany and Mike, so we made sure we got as many as possible throughout their day to capture all the moments of their day. We started off with portraits at their micro wedding ceremony space, Sapphire Point. I mean how could we not capture a few more photos there with a view like that?! From there we made our way down from Sapphire Point, snapping photos along the way. Even as a bit of rain started coming down on us we made the most of our time, even capturing a double rainbow above them at one point! After some final portraits with the fall colors near the lodge their family was waiting at, Mavany and Mike made their way inside to celebrate with their loved ones.
