My 2023 Wedding Roundup as a Colorado Wedding Photographer

As we make our way into the new year I figured this was the perfect time to go through all of the incredible weddings I was a part of this year and share my favorite image from each! 2023 was an absolutely AMAZING year for me as a wedding photographer in Colorado. I had the pleasure of capturing 27 different weddings and elopements throughout the year and I absolutely LOVED each and every one! It was so hard to choose only one image from each wedding I shot, but I managed to pick some that I feel really captured the fun I had with all of my couples. From mountain elopements in Telluride, to epic parties in Denver, each wedding and elopement of 2023 was special to me!!

To all of my couples from 2023, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It truly means the world to me to be your photographer! I can't wait for all the amazing adventures and memories 2024 has in store!!

The Year of 2023

I decided to break this article into four separate sections, one for each season, so we’ll start with spring and then finish with winter! I had the pleasure of having weddings in each season this year, something that shows just how beautiful Colorado is year round. If you’re planning to have your wedding or elopement in Colorado check out this blog covering the pros and cons of each season so you choose the best time of year for YOUR wedding!

Spring

Starting things off in the spring, and we here in Colorado had a very rainy and stormy spring that actually extended a bit into early summer as well. Lucky for me though as a wedding photographer in Colorado, each and every one of my couples were absolute troopers and had THE best attitudes going into their day, rain or shine! Starting things off are Maggie and Miles with their elopement at Rocky Mountain National Park in April. RMNP was a very popular location for me this year, so if you’re interested in learning more about the location check out this blog

I then had 5 incredible weddings in May. First was Kylee and Isaac’s wedding at Loveland Pass. Next was Marissa and Shawn’s wedding Woodlands Colorado, one of my favorite mountain venues. Veda and Samuel’s elopement in Boulder, Colorado was up next. Then was Christine and Patrick’s wedding at Evergreen Lakehouse. Finally I had Mandy and Terry’s wedding at River Bend Lyons to finish off my spring season in style!

Summer

Though rainy at the start as I mentioned, Summer was absolutely gorgeous this wedding season! I had the pleasure of capturing 7 different weddings and elopements this summer, making this one of my busiest seasons of 2023 as a Colorado wedding photographer. June started off with 3 celebrations, the first of which being Abigail and Nikesh’s intimate wedding at Staunton State Park. Next was Kathleen and Scott’s elopement in Leadville, Colorado. Then  finally rounding out June was Iva and Adam’s wedding at North Star Gatherings , another one of my favorite wedding venues in the mountains of Colorado!

Two wonderful weddings made up the month of July, the first of which being Christine and Devon’s wedding at Mountain View Ranch by Wedgewood Weddings. After theirs was Aubrey and John’s wedding at The Chautauqua Dining Hall. These two also chose to have an adventure session the following day which I am ALWAYS down for!

I finished the summer of 2023 off with two more stunning weddings in August. First was Elizabeth and Khoa’s wedding day which took place in Denver. Adri and Hayden’s wedding day at The Windsor Mill. This was a beautiful summer through and through and I’m so happy to have captured ALL of these weddings! Up next though is Colorado’s busiest season for weddings, the fall!!

Fall

There’s a reason fall weddings in Colorado are as popular as they are! The beauty of Colorado is magnified in the fall when the leaves change color, it truly feels magical!! Like most wedding photographers in Colorado my fall was VERY busy, with 6 weddings in September and 6 in October! First in September is one of my 3 fall elopements in Rocky Mountain National Park, and that’s Ashley and Stephen’s! Next was Kristi and Brian’s elopement at Guanella Pass in Central Colorado. Alex and Forest’s elopement at Rocky Mountain National Park was up next. Then came Yoaly and Andrew’s wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge in Lyons. Morgan and Anthony are my third and final Rocky Mountain National Park elopement of the fall. Rounding out September is Jamie and Ivan’s wedding at Winter Park Resort!

The fall colors had begun to show in the later part of September, come October though and they were out in FULL force for my couples! My October started out in the San Juan Mountains for three elopements. This trip was special to me, not only because I was able to capture three amazing elopements, but also because yours truly got engaged on this trip!!

Enough about me though, the first elopement of this venture to the San Juan Mountains was Shannen and Millie’s in Telluride. Nico and Frank’s day in Durango was next, and then it was back to Telluride for Bre and Jodie’s elopement! The next wedding of the month was Jessie and Taylor’s at Upper Larimer in Denver. After that was a special one as it was one of my best friend Paige’s wedding with her husband Chase in Larkspur, Colorado. Finishing out my incredible fall season is of course Karina and Jonathan’s elopement in Golden, Colorado!

Winter

I have two winter weddings to cover for 2023, one being at the start in January, and one being at the VERY end of the year! First up is Jenna and Francine elopement garden of the gods, which honestly was the best possible way to start the year. Their elopement turned out to be a pretty clear indicator at just how AMAZING the year would be!! After all the weddings listed above I rounded out the year of 2023 with Stacy and Michael’s wedding at The Lumber Baron Inn and Gardens on New Year’s Eve! Talk about ending 2023 off in style at one of my favorite wedding venues in Denver!

As you can see, 2023 was a spectacular year! A HUGE thank you to all of the couples that chose and trusted me to capture their day and be with them through this incredibly exciting moment in their lives!! Looking through my favorite images from their day has me both reliving them in joy and eager to see what amazing couples I get the chance to work with in 2024! Happy New Year everyone!
