Vendor Highlight Series: Toute Douceur Candy

Welcome to the first ever Vendor Highlight Series blog post! I am so fortunate to know some of the absolute best vendors in the wedding industry, and I want to share them all with you to make your wedding even more special!

We’re kicking things off with Kimberly Schwenzfeger, owner of Toute Douceur Candy. She can create incredible confections for your wedding! Her candies are so incredible, and she takes the time to create pairings that match your menu or even your signature cocktails!

If you’re looking for a way to elevate your wedding, Kim will surely be able to make it happen!

1. Tell us a little bit about you, what you offer to couples, and how you got started in the wedding industry.

I offer couples a way to ensure that all their guests can enjoy the sweetness of their special day (pun totally intended). With the high quality, fair trade certified chocolate that I use and the natural, fresh ingredients there are options for everyone--which takes some stress off of the couple for making sure that no one is excluded. When I started my business, I knew that I wanted to get involved in weddings. I knew that 'candy bars' were a thing, but they seemed very limited. It really inspired me to create something that could be more customisable to what the couple wanted and be able to send their guests home with something memorable.

2. What's the best part about being a wedding vendor?

I love working one on one with the couples. While I have a regular menu that they can go off of, creating custom confections for their special day is one of my favorite things to do. So many times there are flavors that go with moments in their relationship and it's a way to bring that to their special day. I get to play around with new ideas and the couple gets something that is completely unique to them

3. What's something about your business that you think sets you apart?

I am always working outside of the box and I always focus on flavor over flash. I decided with my confections that I didn't want a lot of artificial colors and ingredients, and I make sure that those ingredients shine.

4. Do you have any specific product, service, or promotion that you want couples to know about?

I will say that there are always changes and new additions to the menu, and I am always available for custom confections. Also, I am working more with elopements and micro weddings.

5. If you could do a destination wedding anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?

There are two places that I can think of. One would be New Orleans--I fell in love before I ever went and when I finally got to go I was hooked. There is such an appreciation for good food and creating confections for a wedding there would definitely be amazing!
Cuba would be the other--it's on my list of travel destinations and I would love to make some Cuban inspired confections.
