10 Stunning Wedding Venues in the Mountains of Colorado

Colorado is known for its incredible and breathtaking mountains, so it comes as no surprise that some of the best and coolest wedding venues in the state can be found tucked in these mountains! Finding the best mountain wedding venue for your wedding day can feel a little daunting at times which is why I want to share 10 of my favorites here with you today. There are honestly SO many to choose from, but this list should at least give a glimpse into the incredible venues the state has to offer!!

Finding the Right Venue

With so many incredible venues scattered throughout the state how can you know which one is right for you? Ultimately this choice is going to come down to the two of you, but there are some key factors you should be aware of when it comes time to make this decision.

The Vibe

First off, what vibe and feel are you looking to have on your wedding day? A venue is a huge part in determining the feel that your wedding day will have. After all, it is the setting for most of, if not all of your wedding day! Make sure that the wedding day you’ve dreamt of having is possible with the venue you choose. If you’re wanting something with more of a rustic vibe you’re likely not going to want an all inclusive, top of the line lodge!

Guest Limits

Another huge factor in finding the right wedding venue for your mountain wedding in Colorado is the guest limits the venue has in place, both in terms of guest minimums and maximums. Along with the setting, the people you have present at your wedding day contribute greatly to the overall feel for the day. Find a space that allows your intimate wedding day, or that can fit your massive wedding of all your friends and family!

Overall Experience

Take into account both you and your guests' experience for your wedding day. Look into stay and travel accommodations for your guests. Are there places to stay on site or nearby? Does the venue offer parking on location? Are there things to keep your guests entertained and engaged while you’re off with your photographer taking your portraits? Make sure your venue is a blast not only for you but also the loved ones you’ll have there celebrating alongside you!

Mountain Wedding Garden

Just north of Crested Butte Colorado you’ll find the stunning wedding venue, Mountain Wedding Garden! Mountain Wedding Garden’s sole focus as a wedding venue is to let you create the wedding day experience you’ve always dreamt of. They have no on site staff the day of your wedding, no bar, and no planning assistance, so your wedding day is entirely in your hands. This can be a dream come true for a lot of couples though as this sort of freedom is hard to come by!!

The venue does offer amenities though in the way of tables and seating, storage to keep your beverages cold, a large charcoal grill to cook on, and more. Mountain Wedding Garden can fit 200 guests in their garden space, and 125 guests in their pavilion reception space. Finding a wedding venue that offers this much flexibility is hard to come by, let alone one in the mountains of Colorado!

The venue can host both your ceremony and reception, and the outdoor patio can also serve as a space for your cocktail hour. The venue can host up to 200 guests, and has different restaurants in its main lodge that can be used for rehearsal dinners or smaller weddings if interested. The mountain views of the Black Mountain Lodge are tough to pass up though making this venue an easy sell!
