Saying I Do Atop a Mountain

Glavine and Doug’s wedding day started with them getting ready separately from one another so they could share a first look together. Their first look was so sweet and intimate, you could tell it was going to be an emotional day in all the best ways!! Before long it was time for their ceremony which they wanted to do atop a mountain.

When helping plan Glavine and Doug’s intimate wedding I suggested Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder Colorado. Sunrise Amphitheater is such a cool space and the perfect spot for their intimate ceremony. The two said I do with a few of their closest friends and family before the three of us snuck away for some portraits. I know I mention the sheer beauty of Colorado often, but the landscape was breathtaking for their portraits!! The combination of the sunset with the clouds and the vast mountain ranges was seriously next level majestic!

An Intimate Reception in Boulder

Though Glavine and Doug wanted an intimate wedding, they still wanted to celebrate and have a good time with their friends. Thankfully we found Rembrandt Yard in downtown Boulder Colorado to host their intimate wedding reception with their closest friends and family! It meant the world to these two being able to celebrate this huge moment in their relationship with all of their favorite people. Complete with a cake cutting, a lovely first dance, and SO much mingling with their people, their reception was exactly how they envisioned it!!

Night Time Portraits in Boulder

Glavine and Doug’s wedding day wasn’t quite over yet though, we had one more adventure to head out on together. Once the sun had fully set on their intimate wedding day we made our way into the streets of Boulder Colorado for some night time portraits. We used the Boulder Theater as our backdrop with its gorgeous neon lights illuminating the streets for us. Doing these kinds of night portraits and working with the neon lights was such a fun experience to cap off their perfect wedding day!!

I honestly couldn’t imagine Glavine and Doug having a more perfect wedding day for them if I tried. After their day Glavine and Doug had these sweet words to share with me, “Katie doesn't just take photos, but she works with you to feel comfortable and confident so that your photos are everything you want them to be. She will LITERALLY climb mountains for you! The bottom line is that when the wedding is over, the food and cake have been eaten, the gifts have all been opened, the wedding dress is cleaned and hung up for the next 25 years and all you have left are the photos to remind you of the day, you're going to be glad that you had Katie behind the camera.”

Between the intimate yet fun vibes, the jaw dropping views, and the personal moments of celebration with those they love most, Glavine and Doug’s intimate wedding day in Boulder Colorado was a resounding success!!
