There’s absolutely NO shortage of fantastic and incredible wedding venues in Denver, Colorado, and today we’re going to be taking a deeper dive into one of my favorites! That’s right, it’s time for another Colorado wedding venue feature, and today’s venue is the insanely beautiful Denver Botanic Gardens!! Let’s take a look at what makes these gardens such phenomenal options to host a wedding, as well as everything you need to know when planning a wedding in them.

Chatfield Farms and York Street Locations

The first note I want to make about the Denver Botanic Gardens is that there are actually two entirely different locations to choose between, Chatfield Farms and York Street! The Chatfield Farms location is actually a part of the Denver suburb Littleton, while the York Street location is found in the heart of Denver. Both of these locations are absolutely gorgeous and have their own distinct vibe and feel to them. Chatfield Farms is much more open and spread out, really tapping into its more natural setting in the Denver Foothills. The York Street location on the other hand provides the more traditional botanic garden experience you’d expect with more varied and curated gardens. Both are spectacular in their own right, and they each offer a ton of spaces to choose from within them!

Between the two locations of the Denver Botanic Gardens there are a whopping 21 different spaces to choose from as your wedding venue!! Whether you’re looking to have a small and intimate celebration, or a gathering with hundreds of guests, you can find an option to fit your needs at both locations! Remarkable Beauty Year Round

In addition to being a perfect fit for practically any size wedding, the other huge draw of The Denver Botanic Gardens as a wedding venue is their immense beauty! Both Chatfield Farms and the York Street location have truly endless photo opportunities. With vibrant floral gardens, gorgeous water features, and a plethora of other beautiful spaces to enjoy, there are SO many incredible backdrops to choose from! This beauty thankfully extends year round as every season has a slightly different appeal to it! My personal favorite time of year though has to be the summer, as there’s just nothing like experiencing a wedding day when the gardens are all in full bloom.

Things to Note

Availability

One key thing I want to make note of about The Denver Botanic Gardens is their availability. While you are able to have weddings at both locations year round, that does come with some caveats. Firstly, the Chatfield Farms location does not allow events on Mondays, unlike the York Street location which is available 7 days a week. Being a botanic garden also means that these are public spaces, so it’s likely that other guests will be walking around the gardens until close. The Chatfield Farms location closes earlier which can be helpful if you’re wanting to feel more like you have the gardens all to yourselves!

Lastly, due to the sheer size and amount of spaces available, both locations make it possible for there to be multiple events booked on the same date. The Chatfield Farm location allows couples to do a full venue buyout to ensure that their wedding is the only event on a given date which is a great option. Without a venue buyout though it’s likely that you’ll have another event happening the day of your wedding if it’s during a busier time of year, which makes this next point SO important!!
