New Years Wedding at Historic Denver Church

“Katie is a fantastic photographer. She made taking pictures fun and easy. We are absolutely in love with our wedding photos and so grateful for all the amazing memories she captured!”

-Myrisa and Jared

The first wedding of my 2020 wedding season was such a special one, because it involved close family and friends! I’ve known Myrisa since I was in elementary school, and it was so meaningful to me to capture their gorgeous day. These two got married only a few days after New Years, which is such a great way to ring in the new year!

I loved the winter theme that Myrisa chose for her wedding. The gorgeous colors, the pine bough decor and floral arrangements, and the faux fur wraps for the bridesmaids all made this such an elegant day! One of the best parts of this wedding was doing two very special first looks with Myrisa, her dad, and her hubby Jared. Both of these first looks were so sweet, and I loved capturing the reactions of Paul and Jared both. This first look also worked out great, because it allowed us to do ALL of the portraits before the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was held in one of North Denver’s historic churches, the Highlands United Methodist Church. I’d driven by this church countless times, but had never actually been inside until this wedding day! It was stunning, both inside and out.

And what wedding is complete without a great party afterwards? We enjoyed a wedding march, as well as seeing the guys all put on cowboy hats (sorry Myrisa!!)

Jared and Myrisa, I am so happy to have been a part of your day!
