Surprise Proposal at the Denver Botanic Gardens | Karie and Tyson — Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer

I’m so excited to share this proposal with you all, not just because of how lovely it was to photograph this moment for Karie and Tyson, but also because it took place in one of my FAVORITE locations in Colorado! I helped Tyson plan out his surprise proposal to Karie in the Denver Botanic Gardens, and the day could NOT have been better!! Tyson’s Proposal in the Denver Botanic Gardens

For the proposal itself, Tyson rented out the Victorian Garden, one of the many beautiful ornamental gardens found within the Denver Botanic Gardens. Renting out the Victorian Garden assured that Karie and Tyson would have a private moment for their proposal, but with the bit of rain we had for the day we ended up practically having the entirety of the Botanic Gardens to ourselves! Still though it was better to be on the safe side, and when it came time for the proposal it was SO perfect having this entire space for just these two to enjoy!!

The appeal of the Denver Botanic Gardens as the proposal location extends further beyond their stunning beauty, as Karie and Tyson visited them during one of their first ever trips together! This made the moment all the more personal and special! Prior to the proposal I was hiding in the gardens, doing my best impression of a tourist so as not to give anything away to Karie. Once Tyson got down to one knee I popped out to document the moment and WOW was it incredible! Karie was so surprised and overcome with emotion, and the two were beaming with joy for the entirety of our time together!! After the proposal we made our way through the Denver Botanic Gardens, taking in the beauty of the gardens while Karie and Tyson enjoyed the pure energy and excitement of being engaged!

Planning a Surprise Proposal in Colorado

I had SO much fun during Karie and Tyson’s surprise proposal in the Denver Botanic Gardens, but it was also a ton of fun planning this moment with Tyson! Like Tyson mentioned in his review, there are a lot of things that go into planning a proposal, some of which are easy to overlook considering it is likely your first time planning one. Luckily that’s where I come in! I’ve photographed many proposals throughout Colorado, and have it down to a science now. From things like location scouting and getting the correct permits, to planning for the weather and timing of the moment itself, I’m here to make sure everything is in place for you both to have the best experience possible!!
