Winter Elopement in Boulder, Colorado | Patience and Christian — Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer

Patience and Christian may have planned the entirety of their elopement in less than a month, but that didn’t make the day any less spectacular! The two traveled from Oklahoma with their pup Skeeter for a winter elopement in Boulder, Colorado, and the day could not have been more perfect. Partly due to the incredible location choice as Boulder happens to be one of my favorite spots in Colorado for an elopement, but also because these two share THE most beautiful love with one another!! Boulder is also incredibly accessible and dog friendly, which made including their pup into their elopement so simple. Check out the highlights from their winter elopement, but first I wanted to give Patience a quick shoutout for the lovely review she left!

Their Elopement Day in Boulder, Colorado

Patience and Christian’s elopement in Boulder, Colorado took place on a cool November day. We had a bit of snowfall already at the time, so we had some casual winter vibes for their day which was SUCH a treat! I met up with Patience, Christian, and Skeeter in Chautauqua Park for the first leg of their elopement day. This was the perfect spot for their elopement portraits as the wide open space of the park combined with the snow dusted mountains of Boulder gave us a breathtaking backdrop to work with! We got a good mix of solo portraits, couples portraits of Patience and Christian, and of course some photos with Skeeter in the mix!! I always love when my couples are able to incorporate their fur babies into their photos, and Skeeter was a total natural in front of the camera.

An Elopement Ceremony Atop Boulder's Lost Gulch Overlook

After we had all the portrait photos we were looking for, it was time for a change of scenery. We made our way to one of my all time FAVORITE spots for elopements not just in Boulder, but throughout all of Colorado, the stunning Lost Gulch Overlook!! I absolutely ADORE the views here, and we surprisingly had the place almost entirely to ourselves. The epic views of Lost Gulch usually make it one of the most popular spots for tourism in Colorado, but the stars aligned for Patience and Christian to be able to enjoy the space for an intimate and private ceremony.

Skeeter and I were the only real witnesses, and Skeeter played a very important role as she got to sign as the witness for Patience and Christian! This is something I love about Colorado’s marriage laws, and one of the many aspects that make elopements here SO special!! The blue hour we got to experience also provided some lovely lighting for the moment, rounding out the day as an all around perfect outing!
